2009-12-30 Nordum joins Kiwa Germany

Nordum GmbH & Co.KG, the Rostock based institute for environmental research and consultancy has, since January 2009, become a part of Kiwa Germany.  With this acquisition Kiwa strengthened its position on the North-German market for environmental services.

Nordum is active in the field of analysis of water, soil and air, besides environmental research and consultancy and assistance in landscape development and training. Nordum, founded in 1990, grew out into a well respected partner for environmental matters with 13 specialists. Nordum manager Dr. Plantikow: “Kiwa is a large world wide operating certification company with a lot of expertise in the field of water, energy and environment. Our combination offers synergy for both partners and offers a unique portfolio for the German market.” Michael Witthöft, director of Kiwa Germany underlines the advantages of the new partnership: “Our joining with Nordum means that Kiwa Germany gets a strong foothold in the Northeastern Region, since we are already based in Rostock with our firm Kiwa Ecoconsult GmbH and in Brandenburg with Kiwa Kontrol.  We plan to combine the three individual firms to get the best out of both worlds to offer our customers an efficient and cost effective service on environment. This is an other important great step in realizing our goal to become a midsize European quality company.

Kiwa Germany has twenty offices throughout Germany. Kiwa Group is based in nine European countries, Turkey and China. Kiwa offers certification, testing, training and consultancy services for (drinking) water, energy, the construction industry and specific markets as food- and healthcare sector.
